When Diamond Training Group were awarded European Social Funding in 2009, they approached newbrandguru and instructed us to device and implement a strategic marketing plan to promote the funding and training facility.

Marketing and Brand Identity

Following a full review of the existing marketing structure and business model, NBG set about rebuilding and redesigning their website ensuring the site worked as a strong information portal for students seeking training. As part of the development, NBG directed and filmed the training facility to give potential students a virtual experience of the training facility.

Following the launch of the website, NBG work closely with Diamond Training Group as an outsourced marketing solution, handling all aspects of their marketing including PR activity, brand awareness and integrated marketing campaigns.

Digital Marketing and Website Design

Having taken over the management of Diamond Training Group’s web presence from an SEO company we have taken great measures to ensure that positions aren’t lost in transitioning to the use of WordPress as a CMS. As you probably already know, WordPress is an extremely capable and search engine optimised CMS out of the box but there are a great number of plugins and tweaks you can make to improve it further.

Without doubt the most challenging aspect of the SEO has been the fact that the new web presence is represented on an entirely new domain. The old but powerful domain name was inconsistent with the logo and branding and after a very lengthy meeting the decision was made to focus strongly on the new brand and domain name. On top of this domain change, Diamond Training Group also had two separate sites for their Tiling Courses and Plastering Courses. In moving domains we also decided to combine the 3 sites into one, and losing the keyword-rich domains that powered those sites may still prove to cause additional work with the SEO. There comes a point where you need to decide whether the user’s experience is more important than easy SEO, and thankfully we have on board a savvy and bold enough client to make that decision.

Web Functionality and Web Tools

In addition to highly targeted SEO, the Diamond Training Group website was built to be user friendly, with easy navigation and clever tools to assist visitors and more importantly improve sales conversions.

The first tool to be included within the website was a Live Chat facility, this enables website visitors to quickly engage with a member of staff from Diamond Training Group in a safe and user-friendly environment.

We also converted their corporate brochure to a flip version which visitors could either view online as a virtual brochure or make use of the download facility and print off a hard copy.

PR and Event Management

As part of our continued strategic marketing plan for 2010, NBG will be designing and delivering a number of events for Diamond Training Group throughout the year. These promotional events will assist us in driving new students through the training group and also give us strong PR hooks to promote the business through both local and national media.
